22/42 - The Simple Digital Arena, Paisley

9th February 2019 Ground Number: 22 Ground: The Simple Digital Arena, Paisley Home of: St. Mirren FC Match: St. Mirren V Dundee United Score: 1-2 Attendance: 3965 Ahhhh the magic of the Scottish Cup! It always throws up some intriguing ties and today Dundee United got the chance to test their new squad against a Premiership outfit in St Mirren. It's fair to say the Saints aren't having the best of seasons so far and are rooted to the bottom of the league however the cup always provides struggling teams a welcome distraction. Off we go then to tick off ground number 22 on the tour. Let's go to Love Street. Wrong era. It must be St Mirren Park. Nope again! It's The Simple Digital Arena. Ahh sponsorship eh? We found the ground very easily and with parking spaces looking to be at a premium on streets around the ground we made the decision to park in the official stadium car park. Yes I know! But it was the sensible thing to do today. £5 paid we found a space

21/42 - Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park, Dundee

26th January 2019 Ground Number: 21 Ground: Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park Home of: Dundee FC Match: Dundee V Motherwell Score: 0-1 Attendance: 4887 We are officially half way there! 50% done! It felt right we should mark the half way point so close to home so today we're off to Dens Park, home of The Dark Blues. David was a Dundee supporter back in the day (before he knew better ;)) so it was great for him to get back to the ground today and it's changed beyond recognition since the last time he was here. Before that though a huge thanks goes out to the club and to a friend (thanks Eddie!) who sorted us out with complimentary tickets for the match. We collected these from the main reception and this offered us a glimpse into the smart interior of the Main Stand. From there it was off to the Club Shop for the obligatory pin badge. Dundee Direct is located on Sandeman Street between the Main Stand and the Bobby Cox Stand and offers an impressive range of merchandise. The

20/42 - Links Park, Montrose

19th January 2019 Ground Number: 20 Ground: Links Park, Montrose Home of: Montrose FC Match: Montrose V Dundee United Score: 0-4 Attendance: 3604 We're finally into the 20's! It feels like a significant part of the tour. Next week we'll be half way! More on that in the next review though. For now we're off into Angus once more and Scottish Cup fever is sweeping Links Park as Montrose will be host to Dundee United. We arrive much too early in Montrose however the advantage of that is we get parked really close to the ground so only have a short walk to the turnstiles. You'll be impressed with us though as even though Dundee United are playing today we still stick to our rules and sit with the home fans. I had contacted Montrose earlier in the week as they had said no ticket sales would take place on the day of the match. This posed a problem as we couldn't exactly pop into the club to get tickets. We could've just bought tickets for the United end of

19/42- The Falkirk Stadium, Falkirk

Image
15th December 2018 Ground Number: 19 Ground: The Falkirk Stadium, Falkirk Home of: Falkirk FC Match: Falkirk V Morton Score: 0-0 Attendance: 3775 It had  to happen at some point right? We've seen 51 goals so far on the tour but between them today Falkirk and Morton couldn't have the decency to score one! Yes that's right folks it was the first 0-0 draw of the tour on a (frankly) miserable day in Falkirk. What were we thinking? No really WHAT  were we thinking? It was pouring down, it was cold and it got dark at about 3:45pm. If today doesn't show our true commitment to getting this tour done I don't know what will! So yes, off we set to the imaginatively named Falkirk Stadium. In Falkirk. Home of Falkirk FC. Keeping up? We found the stadium without any issues and were fully expecting to pay for parking at the ground. It even said so on the Falkirk website. But no, it was free! Happy days! After some camera issues (don't ask!) we got the obliga
