Ok I admit it. We broke one of our rules in Forfar. Yes, THAT one! But let's be honest here, you just cannot come to Forfar and have a pie. It's the law to have a Forfar Bridie. More on that later though.

Ground number 3 and we're in the heart of Angus. Today we're visiting Station Park, the home of Forfar Athletic.  Neither David or I had been here before so it was a true step into the unknown as we approached the ground not really knowing what awaited us.  We arrived in plenty of time and found ample free parking (we're looking at you Livingston!) on the streets close to the ground. We were always going to head to the Main Stand and we made our way along the back of the ground for access. Great photo opportunity here as the club name is emblazoned on the side of the stand. Selfie stick out!

Selfie done. Tick. We make our way in paying our £13 entry. The turnstile staff are super friendly and are curious to know what we're doing. We explain what we're trying to undertake and they wish us luck. It turns out though that we cannot access the Club Shop from here as it's behind one of the goals in a Portakabin! This is a disaster! How are we going to get our pin badges?! A quick word with a steward and we're assured we'll be "let through" at full time to access the shop. And relax. So clearly it's now time to find the pie shop or should that be Bridie stand? Who knows and, frankly, who cares but we know we need to sample a Bridie in Forfar. Bridie secured (it was utterly delicious), we make our way up into the stand to take our seats and they offered a fabulous view of the action. The rest of ground is a mixture of covered and uncovered terracing. Opposite us were the hardy bunch of East Fife fans who've made the journey from Methil. Good on them.

The match itself is typical lower league fare and the friendly crowd surrounding us appreciate they're not watching the Champions League final but they're still right behind their team. A goal in either half sees Forfar run out pretty comfortable winners with East Fife offering little. David and I were secretly hoping for a repeat of the famous Forfar 5 East Fife 4 but sadly it wasn't to be. Half time and David went off for some light tobacco refreshment. Simply exiting the stand was enough here at Forfar. Whilst at the smoking club David got talking to a guy who was actually here watching his son play for East Fife! He was from Dingwall and curious to know when we were heading up that way. As long as we can possibly delay it is the answer. And still is!

It was a beautiful day in Forfar and thankfully there was no risk of being frozen alive like our day in Edinburgh. We found the whole match day experience at Station Park to be most enjoyable. The staff, views, food and even the music was all top notch. David even mentioned getting a Forfar season ticket he enjoyed it that much. I'm still not sure how serious he was to this day.

Full time and we were "let through" the gate to make our way to the Club Portakabin / shop. This isn't looking good. "David it doesn't look very open." It wasn't. Closed. We are now in the firm belief that the pin badge Gods are against us. We exit the ground from behind the goal happy to have ticked off ground number 3 but dejected that the pin badge has eluded us again. Who knew it would be this difficult? The good news is David emailed the club and they couldn't have been more helpful in posting us 2 badges out. Free postage too.

Thanks Forfar, it really was a pleasure.
